Downtown Denver Exploring
This week, two friends and I decided to spend the day in downtown Denver. We live about half an hour away from downtown and we never get there enough. It's such a cool city and there is so much to do- especially in the summertime.
Food Truck Fair
Every Tuesday and Thursday this summer, there is a Food Truck Fair in Civic Center Park. There were tons of food trucks with foods from tacos to pizza to gyros. We grabbed some pizza from Rocky Mountain Slices and had a seat in the grass under a tree. It was a great lunch and it's always fun to shake things up a bit.
After this, we walked around 16th Street Mall- this is always a great idea because there is so much to do. We walked around the shops and spent some time in Barnes and Noble (gotta refuel with some Starbucks). We just hung out but there are so many places to shop and eat on 16th Street. It is also a really cool place to take in the Denver atmosphere- people from every walk of life are there- walking, sitting, singing, eating, running, etc. It really is a cool place to be to hang out.
Then, we took on the Highlands. This is just northwest of downtown Denver and we were on the hunt for Little Man Ice Cream. Here in Denver, this is a very popular ice cream shop. Every knows it as the giant tin can in the Highlands. It is also known for some of the best ice cream in town.
I got chocolate because I'm not too adventurous (I'll admit it) when it comes to ice cream but they do have some pretty cool flavors if you're interested! One of my friends got the purple cow, a raspberry ice cream.
